“Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it…” – Psalm 127:1
The principle in this verse of scripture has been our guide at MBBI from the very beginning when Central Missionary Baptist Church voted to establish the institute in June 2016. Though man has the ability to create, work, and produce with the hands, it is God who is the master builder.
The seeds were sown for MBBI as far back as over three years ago, though I did not recognize it at the time. God was already speaking to the hearts of individuals and preparing for this ministry by laying the groundwork ahead of time.
He has graciously revealed to us in His time what was our part and when to act. He has provided everything needed thus far such as students, a seasoned faculty, buildings, resources and finances. He has been far ahead of us and we are just trying to catch up to where He is with His plans for this ministry.
The journey is exciting as we watch God work and unfold His plan.
As little David faced the giant and was victorious, one thing was for certain: it was obvious that a power greater than David’s sling was at work. David, a “stripling” as Saul called him (I Sam. 17:56) was but a boy in the background, as the Hebrew word indicates.
After the death of Goliath, no one could give the total credit to David since it was certain he could not have done it by himself. David even gave the reason why he faced Goliath in verse 46: “…that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.” David’s goal was to glorify (reveal) God!
Pray for MBBI, that we not get ahead of God and rely on our own wisdom and the manipulations of man as this ministry continues to grow and bring glory to God.
After all, that is our ultimate goal: to glorify the God of the universe.
